Job Summary
To support our growth, we are looking for a Legal Manager to join our team in Jakarta. We seek candidates with extensive knowledge of Indonesian laws, particularly financial regulations, and a minimum of 7 years of experience in the legal sector, preferably in a reputable law firm, financial institution, or fintech environment. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, independent, and possess strong leadership skills to manage legal and compliance functions. They must also demonstrate the ability to maintain strong relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders. The Legal Manager will report directly to the Head of Legal and work closely with the senior leadership team. Due to the dynamic nature of our start-up environment, the role will also involve handling a broad range of legal, regulatory, and compliance matters as needed by our Indonesian entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee legal and compliance matters, ensuring full compliance with Indonesian laws and regulations, particularly corporate, financial, and fintech-related laws.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate key agreements, including NDAs, commercial contracts, and regulatory documents, providing strategic legal advice to support business objectives.
  • Manage corporate governance and ensure proper documentation of board resolutions, corporate filings, and regulatory reporting obligations (including OJK, BI and other relevant authorities).
  • Advise senior management and cross-functional teams on legal and compliance risks related to new products, services, and transactions.
  • Develop and implement legal policies and risk management frameworks to ensure compliance with local and international regulatory standards.
  • Handle licensing and registration matters, working closely with regulatory bodies to obtain and maintain necessary approvals.
  • Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, external counsel, and business partners to address legal and compliance concerns proactively.
  • Conduct legal research to support business initiatives and stay updated on regulatory developments affecting the industry.
  • Supervise and mentor junior legal team members, ensuring the effective execution of legal tasks and responsibilities.
  • Lead dispute resolution management, including working with external legal counsel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B. or equivalent); a Master’s degree in Law (LL.M.) or professional legal certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of legal experience, preferably in a reputable law firm, in-house legal team, or fintech/start-up environment.
  • Strong expertise in corporate, financial, and fintech regulations in Indonesia.
  • Experience managing regulatory compliance matters, including interactions with OJK, BI
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of legal matters with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills with extreme attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to advise and influence senior executives.
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia (both written and spoken).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Indonesian officials and regulatory bodies.
  • Proactive and adaptable mindset, capable of thriving in a fast-paced start-up environment.
