Role
To support our growth, we are looking for a Legal and Compliance Associate to join our team in Jakarta. We are seeking candidates who have extensive experience with financial services, specifically lending and technology services and licensing agreements. Candidates should have at least 5 years of working experience in the legal sector. Additionally, we are looking for individuals with a positive outlook, independence, and the ability to maintain good relationships with the relevant stakeholders and authorities. Due to our nature as a start-up, he/she will also be required to do other things as may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and review NDAs, cooperation and commercial agreements
• Propose recommendations based on, and to comply with, applicable regulations
• Fulfill relevant reporting obligations to authorities such as BI and OJK
• Handle licensing and/or registration matters
• Carry out legal research in different areas of Indonesian law
• Prepare corporate resolutions
• Advise management and other teams on possible legal and compliance risks of products/ services being developed or any ongoing or planned transactions
• Liaise with relevant authorities and partners
• Other responsibilities as may be required from time to time

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law
• Minimum 5 years’ experience, preferably in a reputable law firm or in-house or a similar position in a start-up, bank or multinational company
• Experience with (1) financial services specifically lending and (2) technology service and licensing agreements
• Exhibit high levels of initiative
• Can work unsupervised and prioritize & accomplish tasks accurately and on a timely basis
• Extreme attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in an environment with high degree of volatility and uncertainty
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia
• Ability to communicate well with Indonesian officials
• Ability to conduct legal research thoroughly
